Join a full-day marine bioblitz in the Öresund and explore everything from plankton to bottom-dwelling species using sampling tools and microscopes.
This unique full-day activity offers an in-depth look at the marine ecosystem of the Öresund – from tiny plankton to larger bottom fauna. The bioblitz begins with 4 hours at sea, using a variety of specialized sampling methods to collect different groups of organisms, including macrofauna, meiofauna, and plankton.
The second part takes place in the harbor, where participants spend another 4 hours identifying species under microscopes with expert guidance. You’ll get the chance to closely examine the collected samples and gain hands-on experience in marine observation. Those interested may also bring home sediment samples for further exploration.
This tour is ideal for curious minds of all ages. No prior knowledge is required.
